We at the hotel, motel, (not the) Holiday Inn!
Are you looking for a great place to stay in Santa Rosa? Well, I have a brand new recommendation for you! The folks over at Spinster Sisters have a vision for the Julliard Park neighborhood and dare I say, how to make it (Sonoma County) better? The newly renovated The Astro is proof they’re making big moves for this often overlooked part of Santa Rosa and Sonoma County at large. I attended their ribbon cutting and open house event and was so impressed with how they’ve instilled Sonoma County into every thoughtful, mid-century modern detail.
This hip AF breakfast lounge serves Flying Goat Coffee and pastries from Spinster Sisters. I don’t even think it could get better. Maybe if there was a little whiskey in the coffee? Never mind, never mind. They’re doing it just fine without my Irish coffee suggestions….or are they?
The lobby and breakfast lounge feature handpicked tangerines from the motel’s garden, which feels very Luther Burbank and I love it.
All of the mid-century modern furniture will also be on sale on the motel’s website in the future. This could be very dangerous if you’re anything like me.
I adore the Santa Rosa-themed shower curtains, featuring some of the best places around town! The Sonoma County products that make up the rooms’ mini bars include favorites like dang coconut chips, Sonoma County Meat Company jerky, Volo chocolate bars and Comet Corn! These details are strong finishing touches on a hip motel that has a deep sense of place.
This renovated space is a boon to this neighborhood and our community. Congratulations to The Spinster Sisters crew and to The Astro!
